Hypothenar eminence

The hypothenar eminence is the muscular bulge on the ulnar side of the palm due to the hypothenar muscles. Together the muscle group primarily acts on the 5th finger. The three muscles are:

The small insignificant muscle palmaris brevis is sometimes described as a muscle of the hypothenar group, but as lies superficial to the hypothenar muscles and does not act on the 5th digit it should be considered separate to this muscle group.
