Is thalamus included in deep 4 MCA territories?
Deep 4 MCA territories includes caudate head, lentiform nucleus, internal capsule and the insular cortex. Thalamus is supplied by posterior circulation [polar and paramedian arteries, inferolateral (thalamogeniculate) arteries, and posterior (medial and lateral) choroidal arteries].
A. CT Axial slice at the level of thalamus and basal ganglion which includes 4 deep and 3 cortical territories.
B. CT Axial slice at the level adjacent to the most superior margin of the ganglionic structures which includes 3 cortical MCA territories.
