Antenatal unilateral talipes equinovarus

Presentation

20 weeks of gestation. Routine anomaly scan performed by radiologist.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female
Ultrasound

Adduction of the right forefoot, inversion of the heel and plantar flexion of the forefoot and ankle. Normal alignment of the left foot.

Antenatal sonographic features of right talipes equinovarus.

Case Discussion

Adduction of the right forefoot, inversion of the heel and plantar flexion of the forefoot and ankle are compatible with talipes equinovarus. Left foot is normal. No other abnormalities are seen. Patient referred to amniocentesis and genetic counseling.
