Calcified haematoma - popliteal fossa

Presentation

Patient reports bilateral pain in the lower limbs, approximately one year.

Patient Data

Age: 70
Gender: Female

Projected calcification in the left knee joint.

CT demonstrated a calcification in the popliteal fossa that is not of vascular origin.

Case Discussion

Initially, the main hypotheses were calcified backer cyst or popliteal artery aneurysm, but the CT removed these hypotheses being the main hypothesis an old calcified hematoma.
