Medial tibial stress syndrome

Patient presented to a family physician with typical "shin splint" symptoms with running. These radiographs were obtained and initially read as normal. The films were brought to our imaging center for an over read by her chiropractor who thought the films were abnormal.

Age: 15
Gender: Female

Periosteal callus is appreciated along the dorsomedial surface of the tibia consistent secondary to a stress fracture.
