Rectus femoris muscle contusion

Presentation

Direct trauma to the thigh while playing football. Complaining of local pain for a few days.

Patient Data

Age: 17 years
Ultrasound

There is focal loss of normal muscle echopattern at site of pain. It involves rectus femoris muscle in proximal thigh. Central fluid cleft is seen. There is local hypervascularity. Myotendinous junction is normal.
